Health & Fitness 101

Let's skip all the fluff and get back to the basics. Welcome, class. This is Health & Fitness 101.

Everyday there's a new fade diet or workout plan. How can you tell who's right, who's wrong, and who just wants your money?? Good news ladies and gentlemen, the basics never change. Nail those down and you'll be a step ahead of the competition.

Please talk to your doctor before starting any diet or workout plan. Every body is unique and requires personal care. Treat this site as a starting point.

Let's jump in and take a look at the four parts of living your healthiest life.


The Big Four


If you are trying to get healthy, there are five main components.


  1. Nutrition

  2. Exercise

  3. Sleep

  4. Thinking


Nutrition

No, you can't just work out more...

Here's the deal. Cars run on gas, people run on pizza and tacos... err, I mean food. If you put better fuel in, guess what? Your body runs better (and you get more steps per calorie).

Exercise

I know what you're thinking, but it won't be that bad. Baby steps.

It's better to go to the gym once a month than it is zero times a month. Start small and accomplish your goals.

Sleep

All joking aside, mental health is one of the biggest issues facing our society today. Do a quick google search for "mental health statistics" and you'll be shocked. Almost as shocked as I was when I started telling people I was in therapy and the common response was, "Oh yeah, me too! I love my therapist."
